Project Description
The Albuquerque Water Treatment Plant is a new state of the art surface water treatment plant centrally located in the City of Albuquerque. This plant is part of the San Juan-Chama Project that when complete will provide the State of New Mexico its share of the Colorado River water by diverting 110,000 acre-feet per year from the upper tributaries of the San Juan river, under the continental divide and into the Rio Grade that flow through Albuquerque. The treatment plant will have a capacity of 92.5 mgd with a pre-sedimentation storage capacity of 100 mg and finished water storage of 22 mg.
